The Outreach and Social Justice Committee voted to spend $500 from its Discretionary Budget to purchase some items of personal hygiene to be given out to people coming to In the Garden dinners at Trinity church on Sundays. We were able to buy 384 travel-size containers of Dove shampoo, bodywash, and body lotion. The St. John’s team serving dinner on Sept 24 delivered the items and began handing them out, along with packed lunches contributed by Muslim students, to diners as they left the dining hall. They were much appreciated – especially the lotion! Thank you to the St. John’s congregation for your generosity towards our Columbus neighbors in need of so much.
